Details of Measurements (DoM)
Measurements can be recorded line by line against every item, both at the
Estimate stage and inside each
bill.
Entering measurements
- Select the item and click the measurement button. The measurement dialog opens with
Description, Nos, Length, Breadth and Depth columns — the L/B/D cells also accept
simple arithmetic (e.g.
2*3.5+1).
- Each line carries a Date, so the Measurement Book sheet shows when the work
was measured.
- Reinforcement (steel) items open a dedicated bar-bending dialog with Dia, Bars,
Length and Unit Weight columns instead.
- On closing, the total is written back to the item’s quantity — in an RA bill
from no. 2 onwards, the fresh measurements are added on top of the previous bill’s
up-to-date quantity.
Excel measurement sheets
A measurement sheet can be exported to Excel, filled offline (for example by a
junior engineer at site), and imported back — the imported lines update the
measurements and quantities in one step. Available for both the estimate and each bill
from their respective forms.
Measurements of an approved or superseded bill open read-only — they
can be inspected but not changed. See “Bill approval” under
Bills.
MB sheet
The printed Details of Measurements / M.B. sheet (per bill, with dates) is
available from the Reports side of the bill form and from
Report Preview.
